Charlie Comstock

Charlie joined Junonia Partners as a foundational team member in 2021. Having previously worked with Junonia’s founder Brant Pallasch, he was motivated to join a growing firm with a specialized service offering for exceptional investment managers.

Prior to Junonia, Charlie was Senior Fund Controller at Strait, a high-touch fund administrator. During his time there, Charlie led the hedge fund accounting team providing fund reporting, audit and tax support, middle office, regulatory, and outsourced CFO services for a portfolio of over 40 entities with total AUM over $2.5 billion. His responsibilities included department budgeting, work allocation, and evaluation of client profitability and employee utilization to maximize efficiency to meet individual, department, and firm performance metrics. He also oversaw his team’s annual SOC 1 Type 2 certification audit and managed numerous department and firm-wide technology and systems implementations. Before Strait, Charlie was an Associate Manager at SS&C.

In addition to his 9 years’ experience in hedge fund administration, Charlie also worked in-house at Neuberger Berman as a fund accountant and controller for a hybrid private equity fund of funds with AUM over $1 billion. He was responsible for daily operational support, weekly NAV closes, and annual audited financial statement preparation.

Charlie began his career as a hedge fund accountant with KRFS, a full-service hedge fund administrator where he developed his knowledge of fund accounting and operations. He was responsible for the end-to-end process of fund accounting for a portfolio of hedge funds with responsibilities including booking all fund transactions, daily position and cash reconciliations, month-end valuations, corporate action processing, and production of monthly financial and investor statements.
